Snakes & Ladders 1 – 25
Our Snakes & Ladders 1 – 25 measure approximately 1.6m x 1.6m and is made by laying alternating 30cm thermoplastic squares with a 30cm blank tarmac square. Its finished with a 5cm white border, white numbers approximately 18cm high and the snakes & ladders placed randomly on the grid.
This activity is designed to be used with dice. The game would start by the first person standing on the number '1' of the grid and then would roll the dice to determine how many steps they are allowed to take up the grid. If you land on a square that contains just a number then you stay stationary on that square until its your turn to roll the dice again.
If you land on a square with a ladder then you will climb the ladder and stand on that square until its your turn to roll the dice again. If you land on a square that contains a snakes head then you will slide down the snake and stand on the square with the snakes tail on instead and then wait for your turn to roll the dice again. The aim of the game is to get to the end of the grid first.
This is brilliant when used as an outdoor classroom activity and encourages the children to work as a team and to use their imaginations' through educational play.
